If you miss a Wegovy pill, skip it and take your next pill the following morning. The FDA label says: "If a dose of WEGOVY tablets is missed, skip the missed dose and take the next dose the following day." Do not take two the next day.

What Happens If You Miss a Day of the Wegovy Pill?
One gap doesn't clear semaglutide from your body. The label's instruction is to let the day go and carry on.

Forgot to Take Your Wegovy Pill This Morning?
It depends on what you've had since waking up.
You've already eaten or had coffee. Skip today's pill. The label has no late-dose option: the pill is taken "on an empty stomach in the morning." Once breakfast is in, the missed-dose rule is what's left. Waiting a few hours doesn't reset things. In a 2023 study, people who took oral semaglutide after only a 2- to 6-hour fast had roughly 12% to 43% as much of the drug in their blood as after an overnight fast. That study used Rybelsus doses, not Wegovy's.
You've had nothing to eat or drink and it's still morning. The label doesn't say how late "in the morning" runs, or whether a later dose still counts. Ask your pharmacist. If you take it, wait at least 30 minutes before eating.
Can You Skip a Day of the Wegovy Pill?
On purpose, that's a question for your prescriber. The label only covers a dose you already missed. If side effects are the reason, tell your prescriber. When a dose isn't tolerated during the step-up, the label says to "consider delaying dosage escalation."
Missed 2 or 3 Days of the Wegovy Pill
The pill's missed-dose sentence covers one dose, not several days in a row.
The weekly shot is different: "If 2 or more consecutive doses of WEGOVY injection are missed, reinitiate dosage escalation at a lower dosage to reduce the risk of gastrointestinal adverse reactions." No matching sentence exists for the pill. So after several missed days, call your prescriber or pharmacist. Tell them how many days you missed and which dose you were on.
Wegovy Pill Half-Life: How Long It Stays in Your System
About a week per half-life. The Wegovy label says: "With an elimination half-life of approximately 1 week, semaglutide will be present in the circulation for about 5 to 7 weeks after the last injectable dose of 2.4 mg or 7.2 mg or oral dose of 25 mg."
Half-life is the time it takes for half the drug to leave your blood. The 5-to-7-week figure is stated for the 25 mg pill. The Rybelsus label, for its lower-dose semaglutide tablets, says "about five weeks after the last semaglutide tablet dose."
Wegovy Pill Missed Dose Side Effects: When to Call
The label doesn't describe side effects from one missed pill. Some symptoms need a call regardless. The Medication Guide says: "Stop using WEGOVY and call your healthcare provider right away if you have severe pain in your stomach area (abdomen) that will not go away, with or without nausea or vomiting." It also lists pain in your upper stomach, yellowing of skin or eyes, fever and clay-colored stools as gallbladder signs to call about.
